Northbrook’s 4th of July Mile-Long Parade is back this year! As we plan our Independence Day festivities, safety is our primary concern. In an effort to safely accommodate parade spectators and participants, temporary spectator safety barricades will be placed at intersections along the roadway on Cherry Lane from Western Avenue to Briarwood Lane. In the event of an emergency, the barricades are able to be quickly removed to allow access for Police and Fire vehicles.

Special Notice Regarding “No Parking” Zones
As we plan our Independence Day festivities, safety is our primary concern. Portions of the parade route have been identified as a safety concern due to parked vehicles along the roadways during the 4th of July festivities that block emergency vehicle access.
“No Parking” zones have been designated to ensure prompt access by our Fire and Police Departments in case of an emergency. Some areas will be completely blocked off to parking, and some streets will only have parking available on one side. See the map on the back of this page for location details.
“No Parking” cones and signs will be put in place in advance but will not be enforced until Monday, July 4.
